About

These outdoor sessions will be an introduction into the world of foraging for wild foods. We will discuss safe practices when it comes to foraging, as well as suitable areas, habitats, and best foraging practices to ensure sustainability of wild species and future harvests. Following this talk, attendees will be led on a guided walking tour being shown hands on identification of easily identifiable wild foods that grow in abundance in the Thunder Bay

Area. The guide will also discuss interesting nature facts concerning the boreal forest, history of the Marinas landscape, as well as some natural history in the area and the formation of our biomes.

Please note this event will take place outdoors, so please dress for the weather

Due to current Covid-19 regulations, advance registration is required for this event and attendance will be limited due to capacity. We will be following all current Covid-19 policies and regulations and will update participants at the time of registration on any updates.
