Online Talk with Francesca Carella Arfinengo: Taking and Giving Back, Natural Dyes on Stolen Land
While deepening her understanding of natural dyeing and playing with different dye materials and colourways, Francesca Carella Arfinengo considers questions about reciprocity and settler responsibilities arise. Speaking from her perspective as a white latinx first generation immigrant and settler, she will discuss connections between foraging, land back calls, appropriation in craft practices and living in relationship with the peoples who have protected and passed down the knowledge of natural dyeing. Co-Sponsored by Manitoba Craft Council, MAWA Mentoring Artists for Women's Art.
This event is free.
