About

Follow Kirsty as she demonstrates Saori Weaving live and in-person. Watch and learn about this different type of hand weaving method that emphasizes and prioritizes creativity and free expression. Saori Weaving incorporates different types of fabrics and even metals that get woven together into a unique handwoven cloth. No two weavings are ever alike. Kirsty will demonstrate exactly how she creates her pieces, as well as answer any questions you have about the art form.

About the artist: Kirsty Naray is a Glass, Fibre and Metal artist exploring new ways to combine her three favourite artistic passions. Beginning in 1993, she discovered how to bend glass in a flame and her love of lampwork beadmaking soared. Five years ago she allowed herself time to explore another interest – fibre – and another passion was born. Metal has since been added to her interests. Nature and the spiritual world are constant sources of inspiration. Sharing her work at art shows, studio tours and workshops brings Kirsty feelings of deep contentment and joy.
