The Thunder Bay Art Gallery does not just display art - it is a place to learn, create, and connect through hands-on art-making. Grab an activity sheet and clipboard, head into the exhibitions, and let the art spark you imagination.

Our Inspiration Station is available every day during open hours. Drop in during Culture Days to take part in self-guided, exhibition-linked art activities. With materials and step-by-step instructions provided, you can create your own artwork inspired by the powerful stories and pieces on display.

As the largest public art gallery in Northern Ontario, the Thunder Bay Art Gallery is a leader in the exhibition and collection of visual arts. … documents and records our culture, with over 1,600 works of art forming one of the most extensive collections of contemporary Indigenous and regional art held in trust for the community.

… expands the influence of artists, by loaning artwork to other museums and galleries around the world including the National Gallery of Canada and the Smithsonian Institute.

… welcomes over 20,000 visitors each year including residents, national and international tourists.

… hosts artist talks, lectures, demonstrations, and outreach sessions including hybrid livestreamed events.
