About

Interested in learning how to work with unconventional materials in your art? As part of Culture Days, Yukon Artists at Work is offering a free demonstration/mini-workshop that will explore the creative potential of materials beyond traditional supplies like paint and canvas. Participants will gain ideas on how to incorporate found objects, natural materials, repurposed items, and experimental techniques to create unique and expressive artworks. As inspiration, we will examine some of the pieces from YAAW’s recent wearable art show “Alternate Evolutions”. This class is limited to 12 people, and pre-registration is required by emailing [email protected] Attn: Janet Patterson.

Organizer

Yukon Artists at Work

We are a non-profit society that hosts a gallery located in the little blue house at 4th and Wood in Whitehorse. The gallery is run completely by the member artists and provides opportunities for the public to meet and interact with us, watch us work, and buy our high-quality pieces. All the art sold in our gallery is hand crafted in the Yukon. We frequently collaborate among ourselves, with the local arts community, and with the broader community at large to promote visual art and to host workshops and exhibitions.
