About
The Cinechats Film Festival is an acclaimed weekly (and year-round!) series of the best motion
pictures from around the world. It's like TIFF, but right here in suburbia -- and without all the immodest hype. Instead, we have lively conversations after each film. To date, over 29,000
people have attended Cinechats, which is a not-for-profit community educational collaboration between Artsforum, the University of Ontario Institute of Technology (UOIT), Durham College, and the Durham Council for the Arts. Cinechats was twice nominated for the Art of Transition Creative Award. Come see movies that will stir your emotions and make you think -- movies with award-caliber performances, movies for the artist in all of us. We've even had a world-premiere and some exclusive presentations of films before they were released commercially in North America.
