About

Red Sky’s workshop explores how movement is an integral part of cultural expression and storytelling. Participants will see a brief performance and learn a deeper meaning behind the movement in a fun and engaging way.

Red Sky Performance is a leading Indigenous-led company specializing in contemporary performance, including dance, theatre, music, and media. Guided by its founder Sandra Laronde’s vision, the organization is committed to the creation, elevation, and evolution of contemporary Indigenous arts, aiming to make a significant contribution to the cultural vibrancy of Canada and beyond. Red Sky Performance continues to create inspiring experiences that transform society in meaningful ways, with a focus on the integration of movement, live music, theatricality, and image. Laronde’s vision emphasizes the importance of storytelling as the embodiment of Indigenous voice and ethos, and the company offers unique opportunities for emerging and established artists to thrive through collaborative Indigenous processes.

Organizer

Ontario Culture Days

The Ontario Culture Days Festival is an annual celebration of arts, culture and heritage taking place each fall across the province. Each year, we work with organizers of all disciplines to produce this province-wide festival. Organizers host programs throughout Ontario and invite the public to participate for free.

Ontario Culture Days lives at the local level. We support organizers from the smallest hamlets to the largest cities, while coordinating with other national and provincial Culture Days partners. We support the success of our sector colleagues through resources and network development, while highlighting the breadth and heterogeneity of Ontario’s arts and culture to the wider public.
