About
Akin Queen East (429 Queen St. E.) is an artist studio and workspace operated by Akin Collective, one of Toronto’s largest providers of affordable studio spaces. The building’s three floors have been divided into individual and shared studio spaces which host over 60 painters, ceramicists, textile artists, illustrators and more. Akin currently operates eight studios across Toronto, with Akin Queen East being the newest addition, having opened in June 2024. Visitors to Akin Queen East during the Open Studio Day event will be exposed to incredible displays of work and have an opportunity to meet the artists. Guests will also be able to speak to our attending staff about Akin, and its unique service to the community.
