About
Participants are invited to join a collaborative art experience that celebrates our shared connection to the city. The event will begin with an illustration of a city building, hand-drawn by the artists, Nilou Afshar, Maryam Afshar and Masoumeh Aghili. Then, community members of all ages will be encouraged to draw a heart in one of the building’s windows and fill it with color, representing their unique presence and love for the city.
This interactive artwork highlights the diversity, creativity, and warmth of our community — showing that behind every window, there is a heart.

I am the Art and Social Connections Lead. I aim to use the arts to create a welcoming ambience for newcomers to help them integrate comfortably in the Canadian society. I believe that by creating a conversation with art, I will be able to help newcomers build their confidence, be able to network and learn from each other.
