Join us at The Stiver Mill Cultural Centre (Station Lane, Unionville) Sat., Sept. 24 and Sun., Sept. 25 between 11:00 AM and 2:00 PM to create, in paint and/or collage, a paper quilt square to add to our Markham Arts Council's Collaborative Culture Days Quilt. Hosted by artist Judith Livingston, this community project will come together with the touch of a local artist!

On Oct 3rd visit Judy or MAC website (listed below) to see the completed quilt and what a difference a community can make!

ABOUT THE ARTIST:

Judith, a long-time, award-winning, Exhibiting Artist and Instructor with The Varley Art

Gallery, Markham Arts Council and Latcham Arts Centre. She works in Acrylics,

Watercolours, Mixed Media and Collage. Her awards include an ACRA from The Town of

Markham and The Canada 125 Commemorative Medal from The Government of Canada.

Her work may be found in numerous National and International Collections such as His

Excellency Dr. Ivanov, President of Macedonia; The Art Gallery of Peel, “CSPWC Diploma

Collection", Brampton, Ontario; The Alberta College of Art and Design, “Canadian Art SlideLibrary”, Calgary, Alberta; and The Right Honourable C. Joseph Clark, Alberta. Exhibitions of special significance include her 2008 Retrospective at The Varley Art Gallery; the 2004 Page-Walker Arts and History Center, in Cary, North Carolina, USA; the 1999 CSPWC Exhibition at the Museo Nacional de la Acuarela, in Coyoacan, Mexico; the “Homage to Picasso” Exhibition in 1998 at The Marie Louise Trichet Art Gallery in Litchfield, CT, USA; and The 1996 75th Anniversary Celebration of the Group of Seven at The McMichael Canadian Art Collection, “Re/Grouping: A Living Legacy” Exhibition Kleinburg, Ont. Upon arriving in Markham in 1983, she has been very active in the arts community and a member of MAC since 2005.
