About
A Blanket Exercise is a unique and powerful participatory history lesson and eye-opening interactive journey through 400 years of Indigenous experience in Canada.. Using only a few quilts, narrators will guide participants through a metaphoric re-enactment of the experience of Indigenous and First Nations people in Canada.
Developed in collaboration with Indigenous Elders, knowledge keepers and educators, the Blanket Exercise is an immersive cultural experience that fosters truth, understanding, respect and reconciliation among Indigenous and non-indigenous peoples.
The Blank Exercise will be presented by Elizabeth Edgar-Webkamigad and the Shingwauk Residential Learning Centre.
The event will be held on the front lawn of the Ermatinger Clergue National Historic Site (weather permitting) or inside the Heritage Discovery Centre, in case of inclement weather.
Registration is required. Event is free of charge. To register: https://www.eventbrite.ca/e/blanket-exercise-tickets-71112871513?aff=ebdssbdestsearch
