About
Join us to hear and discover readings from the work of local authors. Following the readings, refreshments will be served with time to mingle and chat with the authors about their individual work.
Our special guest is Chief Stacey Laforme, Chief of the Mississauga of the Credit First Nation, who will read from his poetry collection Living in the Tall Grass: Poems of Reconciliation. Chief Laforme’s poems reflect the 7 values of honesty, truth, love, courage, humility, wisdom and respect. His most widely recognized poem, “I Love This Land,” is written in the voice of a First Nations soldier and has been featured on CBC Radio.
