About
Travel with librettist Bridget Gole's and composer Peter Skoggard's new opera, Mme Lavoisier, with singers and piano, through the story of Marie Anne Lavoisier: her youth as a hostess in her father's salon, her marriage to Antoine Lavoisier, their collaborative work in the chemistry lab and encounter with the increasing violence of the French Revolution, and her life after Antoine's execution. Both Gole and Skoggard will describe the whole process of creating an opera about this resilient woman in a Q & A involving the audience.

The Elora Poetry Centre & Gallery
The Elora Poetry Centre & Gallery holds a collection of literary memorabilia, including collaborative works of art, and hosts poetry readings, art exhibitions, and music events in a beautiful natural setting of garden and woodland, leading to the Grand River. Our events are staged in two houses designated under the Ontario Heritage Act, an 1860 stone house and an 1832 log house, originally located in Puslinch Township, that was a Quaker meeting house and part of the Canadian Underground Railroad.
