The picnic is an annual event normally held in June which is organized by volunteers at the Oakville Historical Society.

This year we were lucky enough to have explanations about First Nation Acknowledgements/ Smudging and a bit about Oakville's Black history.

The Oakville Historical Society preserves and promotes the historical heritage of the Town of Oakville, Ontario, Canada. Throughout the year, our promotional efforts include hosting various family activities and events that promote Oakville's heritage and get the public involved in learning about the town and what we do. Our plaques are aimed at preserving historical sites around town, while we offer services to the public such as guided walking tours and exhibits.
