About Tom Van Seters:

Jazz pianist and composer Tom Van Seters completed his Master of Music degree at McGill University in Montreal and his Doctor of Musical Arts degree at the University of Toronto. An active member of the Canadian music scene for over twenty-five years, he has performed in a wide variety of high profile settings and collaborated with some of Canada’s most renowned musicians. Dr. Van Seters has released three critically acclaimed CDs as a leader, all of which feature his original compositions. He has performed with numerous large and small ensembles in Edmonton, including the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra and the Edmonton Jazz Orchestra. His scholarly research is centered around parallels between piano and drumming performance practices in jazz.
