About

Join artist Melanie Monique Rose in making your own silk colour story from the land. Together we will create memories held in cloth from our garden flowers and local plants. This may be joined with some 'known' dye stuff such as cochineal (bugs) and logwood (bark) which will be provided for us by maiwa. In this workshop you will take home your own naturally dyed ecoprinted/bundle dyed silk scarf.

*Participants are encouraged to bring their own fresh or pressed leaves and flowers. Kitchen scraps work too.

*Begonia, dark flowers like purple, black and red petunias, marigold, cosmos and coreopsis are excellent.

*Goldenrod, aspen leaves, Strawberry blite from the wild are great to name a few...

*Onion skins, avocado peels & pits from the kitchen...

*Experiment with Nature's bounty!
