About the artist:

Nancy Ruen‐Fen Chen was born in Taiwan and studied under master painter Huei‐Tung Chen in early childhood. In 1969, she continued her studies in Montreal, Quebec. She moved to Vancouver in 1980, where she began serious study in Chinese painting. Nancy works primarily in watercolours on Chinese rice paper, combining both traditional and contemporary techniques. In 1984, Nancy became a member of the Federation of Canadian Artists (FCA). She is a devoted teacher, instructing adults and children in the art of Chinese painting for over 30 years. Nancy conducts workshops and demonstrations throughout Canada and the USA. Her works have been exhibited locally and abroad.
