About
This hands-on workshop invites participants to create expressive torn paper flowers using colors that reflect their cultural identity. Through guided conversation and storytelling, participants will share the meanings behind their chosen colors, fostering connection and cultural exchange. Inspired by Brampton’s identity as “The Flower City,” and presented as part of Ontario Culture Days, this workshop celebrates diversity, belonging, and community through collaborative art-making and shared creative experiences.
The City of Brampton held an open call for proposals seeking program leaders working in all art forms to deliver community engaged arts programming during Culture Days. This open call invited expressions of interest from artists and arts leaders with a project budget of up to $4,000. Happy Hands Pottery & Art Studio was one of the successful applicants and the Cultural Services Division at the City of Brampton is proud to support this workshop.
