About

We'll be on-site at the Sault Museum for our second and third of 4 ArtHive Pop-Ups. We'll be encouraging people to reflect upon their experience of racism in the Sault and present the question, "What would a community free from racism look like, feel like and sound like?" Participants will be invited to respond to this question through visual art, poetry/spoken word and/or any other creative processes of their choosing. In keeping with local COVID-19 health precautions, the wearing of masks, physical distancing and regular hand sanitizing will be required by all participants and facilitators. Should local COVID-19 cases dramatically increase, our on-site pop-up art hives will move on-line -- see below for details.

Our ArtSpeaks Anti-Racism Pop-Up Series is presented by LIP--Local Immigration Partnership/IRCC in conjunction with the Sault Museum's 'Recreating our Community' Project; for more info, you can find us on-line via Facebook and Instagram @ The ArtSpeaks Project site page.

Organizer

The ArtSpeaks Project and ArtHives

The ArtSpeaks ArtHives are free-access community art studio sessions offering self-directed, art-as-therapy art making opportunities for adults and youth(16+) impacted by trauma (and their supporters and allies). ArtHives are supervised by an art therapist and co-facilitated by professional artists. On-site sessions are hosted by the Sault Museum in their second floor Discovery Gallery and Education Room. Please contact the Sault Museum directly at 705-759-7278 to reserve your spot and to find out about current COVID-19 precautions. Please note that should the Museum need to close due to an increase in COVID-19 cases, our hives will be offered as on-line sessions and as such will be open to the general public. Our on-line hives are offered via social media platforms, Facebook and Instagram @ The ArtSpeaks Project site pages.
