About
With a little bit of everything for the bookworms, writers, and community and culture lovers to dive into, Word Vancouver is back to celebrate more than 30 years of literary excellence and storytelling in Vancouver and British Columbia.
Running Thursday, September 10 to Saturday, September 26, the festival includes nearly 40 events over 16 days at numerous venues around Vancouver. The main event will allow festival goers to spend a Saturday wandering UBC Robson Square, the space outside the Vancouver Art Gallery in downtown Vancouver, coffee in hand, celebrating local authors from across BC.

Word Vancouver
The Vancouver Book and Magazine Fair Society was incorporated in 1995 and produced the first “Word On The Street Vancouver” festival that year. Held at the then newly built Vancouver Public Library, it featured 60 exhibitors and attracted 18,000 festival-goers.
Since that inaugural Festival, the Society has maintained consistent growth year after year, attracting increasing numbers of visitors from across British Columbia and Canada, making it a primary event in Western Canada’s literacy and literary community.
