About Welcoming Week: Each fall across the globe, communities extend a hand in welcome to their new neighbours. Welcoming Week, an annual recognition of community and belonging, invites us to take some time to say, ‘you belong here!'. Waterloo Region’s Welcoming Week celebrations kick off on Friday, September 13, and will include community picnics, film screenings, tours, community art projects, information nights, and even Canadian Citizenship Ceremonies. Our goal is to build stronger neighborhoods and kinder communities by simply expressing welcome.
