About
Théâtre Cercle Molière and Wall-to-Wall Murals & Culture Festival present three new printed murals in a collection curated by Patterns Collective. Come celebrate the unveiling of the new works!
Collective Patterns Curatorial Statement:
“Sylvia Wynter proposes the human as homo narrans, which is looking at the evolution of “the human as a hybrid- auto- instituting- languaging- storytelling species.” These works presented by Isabel Okoro, Rebecca Bair and Erika Defreitas, embody the exploration of these origins through many of the narratives within their imagery; usage of the ritual, passed down knowledge and imaginings of the future. These works encompass this hybridity as we envision these images as not just a singular event, but rather continuous performances that have lives and potentialities that branch past the still borders of the photo. By depicting an existence that lives within the many sides of humanness, these artists articulate the stories they would like to see outside and past the histories of sealed and chained legacies.”
