About

September GAAC Student Art Exhibit: A Journey of Creativity and Expression

This special exhibit showcases the creative works of eight talented student artists from the Green Acres Art Centre (GAAC), alongside their educators and mentors, Graham and Vera Clarke. These students have chosen to explore and develop their individual artistic voices through this class, interpreting the world around them in unique ways. The exhibit highlights how art can provide a positive outlet for expression, helping the students—and the broader community—navigate life’s challenges with creativity and insight.

About the Educators: Vera and Graham Clarke, both graduates of the University of Manitoba in the 1960s, bring a wealth of experience to their teaching. They have lived and created art in Mexico, New York, and Toronto, before returning to Manitoba, where they became "Artists in Residence" in northern communities. Since founding GAAC, the Clarkes have shared their passion for art, guiding students in discovering their own creative potential. Graham has also taught at the Winnipeg Art Gallery, and their work can be found in various commercial, government, and private collections across Manitoba and beyond.

We invite you to experience the beauty, insight, and emotion expressed in this exhibit, and perhaps take away ‘a little something’ to nourish your heart and soul.

October Wave Artists Studio Tour at 210 Gallery

Open First Friday, Oct 4 6pm-9pm with artist talk at 7pm.

We’re excited to bring the best of the Wave Studio Tour to Winnipeg’s 210 Gallery in the Exchange District this October! Featuring talented artists from the Eastern and Interlake regions, this exhibit offers a unique chance to experience their creativity up close and personal.

While the original Wave Studio Tour invites you to explore studios at your own pace in June and August, this special exhibit brings their work directly to you in Winnipeg. Discover a variety of artistic mediums (Painting, Sculpture, Clay, Photo, Jewelry and Glass) and gain insight into the creative process of these remarkable artists at the First Fridays event artist talk on October at 7pm (open form 6pm-9pm).

The WAVE, run by the Winnipeg Beach Art + Culture Co-op, is a non-profit artist-led initiative aimed at engaging the community through art. With 18 participating artists in 2024, the collective looks forward to connecting with new and returning WAVE-goers alike in this exciting new gallery exhibit. Join us this October as the WAVE rolls into the city!

Gallery is open Monday-Thursday 10am-4pm.
