About
Join artist Timothy Yanick Hunter for a hands-on public workshop, followed by a live performance of Playing Pictures.
During the workshop, participants will create what Hunter calls “reference books”: handmade booklets assembled from found images, text excerpts, photographs and other source materials. Participants are encouraged to bring materials of their own, including printed matter, screenshots, PDFs, images from a phone or computer, memorabilia or anything else they would like to work with. Additional materials will be available, along with scanners, printers, paper cutters and binding tools.
Schedule
Workshop: 6:30 - 8 pm
Break: 8 - 9 pm
Performance: 9 - 10 pm
Playing Pictures is an installation and performance work that combines sound, moving images, and realtime improvisation. Combining sound, moving images and real-time improvisation, it brings Hunter’s studio experimentation into a live setting.

Organizer
Ontario Culture Days
Ontario Culture Days is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to championing and supporting arts and culture across the province.
Each fall, we present the Ontario Culture Days festival, a province-wide celebration featuring free arts and cultural experiences in communities of all sizes. Working with artists, cultural organizations, municipalities and community partners, we help bring performances, exhibitions, workshops, tours and other participatory events to audiences throughout Ontario.
Beyond the festival, Ontario Culture Days supports the cultural sector through year-round programs, resources, partnerships and professional development. We connect people with the artists, stories and places that make Ontario’s communities vibrant and distinctive.
