Over a series of get-togethers, both plein air and studio, in Metchosin, East Sooke and the broader Westshore, six painters - some beginners, some lifelong artists - decided to each choose two photos of their beloved Vancouver Island, and then all paint the same subjects. One year on, their personal interpretations formed a fascinating and eclectic exhibit that showed in 2020 at Metchosin ArtPod. Now, they have turned their attention to collaborative pieces, scheduled to show in 2021 at the Sooke Arts Council Gallery and the Esquimalt Community Arts Hub.
