About

A Day at the Races in the 1920s

Currently on display at the Minoru Hall Gallery at the Richmond Cultural Centre, this exhibition of photographs from the City of Richmond Archives captures a day at the races at Brighouse Racetrack, now the site of Minoru Park in Richmond. The 1920s were the racetrack’s heyday, when Richmond’s population could double on race days.

Presented by the Friends of the Richmond Archives as part of the Community Exhibit Program.

Organizer

Friends of the Richmond Archives

The Friends of the Richmond Archives was established in 1987 to support the work of the City of Richmond Archives and to promote the preservation and understanding of Richmond's history.
