About

Indigenous drumming circles are spiritual and cultural gatherings centered on the sacred drum, which symbolizes the heartbeat of Mother Earth and a connection to all life. The circular formation of the gathering represents wholeness, balance, and equality. Drumming facilitates healing, reconnection with the present moment, and understanding one's purpose within the "Circle of Life". The sacred rhythm connects individuals to their spirits, the Creator, and the natural world.

Bring your friends, family, and an open heart — everyone is welcome to come together in the spirit of celebration, learning, and connection.

We will offer two sessions, each one running for 2 hours that aim to include:

- a smudging station

- an opportunity to ground yourself to the earth

- gathering in a circle space

- readings of Chief Dan George

- offering of thanks

- a daily acknowledgement

- a great spirit ask

- four directions teaching

- drumming and singing

teachings between songs:

- the significance of the feather

- the seven grandfathers teaching from the Ojibwe Anishinabe

- the turtle story

- the medicine wheel

- the three sisters

To bring with you:

- a chair or blanket to sit on

- a drum, shaker and/or tambourine if you have them

This is an outdoor event - please dress for the weather!

Gallery Rossland Gardens Amherst Island

Located on the oldest farmstead on Amherst Island circa 1790, our retail Canadian fine craft gallery and private botanical gardens are a destination unlike any other. With stunning views and rustic charm, visiting us is akin to journeying back in time, where the tradition of fine craftsmanship in wood, metal, fibre, clay and glass arts are presented in original, contemporary ways.
