Zoom - link provided after pre-registration.

Winnipeg Beach, MB

Digital Interdisciplinary Poetry & spoken word Visual arts Writing & literature

Ekphrasis is captivating because words are used to re-imagine in a myriad of ways a visual work of art. Amplify the volume by interviewing your favourite creative piece. Think “Vincent”, a masterful song (and poem) created in response to Van Gogh’s Starry Night. Curious about how? Rosemary Miguez and Gayle Halliwell, closet poets and accomplished visual artists, lead this 2-hour interactive Zoom workshop that will give voice to your hidden talent as a writer, poet, or songwriter! Join them as we learn from Vincent (see YouTube link), explore other works and re-imagine your chosen works of visual art. Please pre-register to receive a follow-along handout, Zoom link, and additional instructions for participation.

This event runs the duration of Culture Days.
