About
Established in 2000 by the Mission Community Archives, the School Archives Program was the first program in BC to forge a partnership with teachers, students, and parents to facilitate the ongoing collection, preservation and availability of archival materials from each school in the community. This exhibit will feature some of the documents, photographs, and other materials that collectively tell the story of Mission schools development, achievements, and culture. They are not just collections of records, but active components in constructing and maintaining each school's unique character, traditions, and values.
Organizer
Mission Community Archives
The Archives serves local residents and the global community by acquiring, preserving, maintaining, documenting and making available for public research records of archival value to the City of Mission and the Fraser Valley Regional District Electoral Areas. Archivist Val Billesberger believes that key to carrying out to archives' mandate is to engage the public by showcasing Mission’s storied past through its online presence, public programs and community partnerships.
