About

"Expressions of Excitement", an art exhibit by painter Valerie McLenahan and fibre artist Amanda Rose Tanner.

Valerie is inspired by colour, shapes and texture to create vibrant sensations in watercolour and acrylic paintings.

Amanda arouses her imagination to create spectacular compositions in wall hangings and charismatic felted art.

The exhibit will hang at the High River Library September 1-30. Put on your mask to visit the library in person. Remember to keep a 2 metres distance from other people in the library.

Demonstrations, talks and a virtual tour will be found on Valerie's Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/valerie.mclenahan

Valerie McLenahan & Amanda Tanner

Valerie McLenahan has been passionate about art since she was a child though her development as an artist began years later. Now she continually strives to improve herself as an artist by gaining more understanding of all aspects of art. Learning from other artists, books and videos continues to ever expand her range of techniques and abilities. She shares her artistic skills by teaching and receives enjoyment from her students’ successes.

Amanda Rose Tanner discovered her affinity to Fibre art processes during her studies at Alberta University of the Arts (ACAD) from where she graduated in 2007 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts. She is a member of the Sheep Creek Weavers and Fibre Artists Guild, has taught felting classes in multiple communities around the Greater Foothills, and has shown and sold her fibre based artworks to private collectors, through local galleries, shops and artisan sales.
