About

In partnership with the City of Thunder Bay, The Art of the Mushroom is a celebration of art and everything mushroom! Over a dozen local artists, drawing inspiration from the mushroom, will each create a wonderful art piece. Everyone will explore whatever media they choose to express their mushroom joy. A collection of small community artworks will also be integrated into the show as well as opportunities for visitors to make their own art - printmaking their own beautiful mushroom cards and pieces with local artist Julia Mills. Local sculptor Nathan Cross will also be doing a demo of clay mushrooms, with beautiful mushroom clay pieces available as part of a fundraiser. We're also partnering with the Boreal Museum to inform and entertain with the wonderful world of fungi. Additionally, some members of All the Daze youth theater will be there with their Alice in Wonderland best to inspire and entertain! So come on down for the evening and have some FUNgi!

CAHEP

CAHEP is the Community Arts and Heritage Education Project, based in Thunder Bay, Ontario, which brings professional artists of many disciplines into community settings. Whether coming into schools and exposing students to new and challenging arts projects, or providing arts services in community groups (ie-55+, Boys and Girls club, etc) or creating drop in programming at city wide events, we strive to open the view and understanding of art and the power it holds.
