About

Neil Cotton, singer and songwriter, presents a series of songwriting workshops! Over the course of three sessions, participants will learn what makes a great song and how to write one—there are no rules, only guidelines!

Participants will discuss the two components of a song—lyrics and music. Lyrics tell an emotional story much like a short movie, using descriptive words, phrases, and images. Music supports lyrics with a variety of tempos, beats, melodies, chords, and instrumentation to create emotion and atmosphere.

Being a musician is not a requirement, but bring an instrument if you do play!

Preregister below.

COVID-19 screening protocol is in effect and mandatory for all Town facilities, including the Public Library and Cultural Centre. Pre-registration is required, and space is limited. Attendees must continue to maintain physical distancing and wear a mask as per public health guidelines.
