About
Did you know that on Friday, March 25, 1910, Charles K. Hamilton became the first person in BC to fly an airplane when he lifted off in front of 3,500 cheering spectators at Minoru Park in Richmond? Many flying firsts in Richmond were to follow. Today, Richmond is home to the award-winning Vancouver International Airport. Learn about these stories and more in Taking Flight!
Richmond Stories is a collection of 10 short videos that bring Richmond's history to life through storytelling, archival photos, and modern videography.

The Richmond Museum is operated collaboratively by the Richmond Museum Society and City of Richmond. The Museum’s vision is to make the history of Richmond relevant, engaging and accessible.
To support this vision, the Museum collects, documents, researches, preserves, exhibits and interprets objects of historical and cultural significance to the development and history of Richmond.
As storytellers, collectors and educators, our goal is to create moments of wonder and understanding. Our exhibitions tell the many fascinating stories of Richmond; our collections are windows into how we live, past and present; our education programs open minds, young and old; and our work inspires action for a healthy community and planet.
