About
The Allan Brooks Nature Centre BC Culture Days event invites painters and other artists to come to our nature centre and create art "en plain air" (denoting or in the manner of a 19th-century style of painting outdoors), with a chance to win prizes in one of three categories: Experienced, Emerging & Youth!
This event will engage the local and provincial community and create awareness of the artists working in the North Okanagan, as well as highlight the incredible beauty of this endangered grassland habitat. Guests are welcome to come respectfully observe the artists in their process throughout the day, and to vote for their favorite (at 2pm) in each of the 3 categories!
This is a FREE event, sponsored by the Arts Council of the North Okanagan and The Allan Brooks Nature Centre, on Saturday, October 7 from 8-3:30pm.
Artists can register on the day-of (from 9am-Noon), and choose a spot along the trail/lookout for the day. At 2pm, the artists will bring their art up to the centre for guest voting and refreshments. 2:30pm the voting will be closed for counting and then prizes will be announced! The centre closes at 3:30pm in the afternoon.
Joining us all day will be the amazing WICKED WAFFLES food truck! Fresh and delicious GLUTEN & WHEAT FREE waffles in savory and sweet forms.
Come celebrate art and nature with us!
