About
Rubia Darya Gallery will celebrate Winnipeg's 2023 Nuit Blanche with an exhibition of antique and vintage hand-woven rugs and textiles that feature the setareh ("star") motif.
For centuries, weavers from diverse nomadic groups in western and central Asia have incorporated setareh motifs into their textile designs, either as a featured or as a secondary motif.
During this event, Rubia Darya Gallery will exhibit rugs and textiles from different weaving groups to illustrate the various ways in which the setareh motif has been used to create and augment traditional textile designs.
