About
Proudly Stocking The Nipawin Food Bank
The Big Stir - Soup Stories
Thursday September 26
1 to 4PM and 6 to 9PM
Upstairs at the Nipawin Legion
Our mission is simple, to stock the freezer at the Nipawin Food Bank so those impacted by food insecurity have access to wholesome and delicious soup over the winter months.
Cultures and community are invited to reserve their table and make soup, while answering questions at their tables about things they can do to help build culture and a psychologically safe community for all our neighbors, even those without a home or money to buy food.
Organizer
Rise Up Community Advisory Foundation
Who are we? The RiSEUP Community Advisory Foundation is a registered not-for-profit organization in good standing that empowers women in rural northeast Saskatchewan to rise up and achieve balance in work and life through community connections.
RiSEUP is board-governed and currently consists of women from different backgrounds who are local to the Nipawin area. We are funded through grants, sponsorships, donations, and HR On-Call services. Our aim is to create safe spaces for cultural exchange and learning, for women to find common ground, and build community connections regardless of her status or position.
Some of the issues we bring awareness to are gossip and judgment that create stigma, racism, and stereotypes in the community which often result in unintentional exclusion on the playground, at the office, and at home.
