Our event features a vibrant blend of poetry readings and comedy skits, including a guest appearance by Cheyenna (Shy) Sapp. Attendees will experience the unique artistic expressions of our Indigenous Artist in Residence, Bee Bird, through screenings of his powerful poetry videos.

This event will entertain and educate the audience about Indigenous perspectives and storytelling traditions, creating a memorable atmosphere of humor and reflection.

Guest: Cheyenna (Shy) Sapp (she/her)

Shy is a proud nehiyaw iskwew from Little Pine First Nation, SK, based in Saskatoon. A multi-talented mom, aunty, standup comedian, and actor, she stars as Rose Sinclair on the hit sitcom "Acting Good," available on Crave and APTN Lumi. Shy's comedy has shone on stages across North America, from Indig-E Girl 2022 to The Deadly Aunties Comedy Tour 2023 and the No Reservations Tour 2024. Don’t miss this act!

City of Regina's 2024 Indigenous Artist in Residence Bee Bird is from Montreal Lake Cree Nation, located on Treaty 6 Territory in Saskatchewan. He is a student at First Nations University of Canada pursuing his Indigenous Communication and Arts Degree. Focused on his passion, he works on enhancing his skills in audio, photography, and video production.
