About
Join us, September 30 - October 19 at the Cowichan Valley Arts Council for a unique ecology through art experience: Project 84,000. One thousand Cowichan community members, young and old, produced a 216 square metre mural, printed on both sides, with fish images. Why? To create a visual record of the devastating 2023 climate event, in which 84,000 juvenile steelhead trout were lost to an algal bloom on the Heritage Quw’utsun Sta’lo’ Cowichan River.
With thanks to the Cowichan Lake and River Stewardship Society, Xwulqw’selu Connections, the Town of Lake Cowichan, and the Cowichan Lake Arts and Culture Society.
