Visit the AGA on October 1st, 2022 for Doors Open!
Come see our exhibition Gathering in Honour, featuring local Indigenous artist Lucia O’Connor Laford and the late John Laford as well as many other celebrated Indigenous artists from the Art Gallery of Algoma’s permanent collection, our lobby exhibition Butterflies and Bees, and landscape exhibition with works from the permanent collection by the Group of Seven.
All exhibitions will be by donation, the gallery will be open from 10 am to 4 pm.
The Art Gallery of Algoma is a part of the Ontario Culture Days Regional Hub Program.

The AGA was founded as a non-profit public art gallery and incorporated on July 7, 1975. Established by a group of dedicated volunteers and art enthusiasts, the AGA honours its roots as a community organization with its mission of celebrating culture, educating visitors, and enriching lives through the visual arts. The AGA’s vision is to be a premier visual arts institution in northern Ontario, gaining national recognition and international partnerships. With the appointment of Director Jasmina Jovanovic in August 2011, the AGA looks forward to the next phase in its evolution: establishing and implementing exciting new initiatives, becoming more involved in the national contemporary art scene, and continuing to uphold its multifaceted mandate.
