About

This year, IllumiSkate plans to roller skate Nuit Blanche again--with a twist: A Roll Out (moving from spot to spot)!

Roller skaters in Winnipeg have many different styles (rink/jam, street/rollout, derby, speed, park) and we want to show them all off. Our moving installation (the only of it's kind) starts at the Forks and ends at the WAG - Qaumajug.

Own a pair of skates? Come join us! (NO SKATE RENTALS)

Whether you're interested in rink/jam or want to cruise through the night on skates, we have a place for you to do that!

- 6:00 to 8:15 pm come to the Forks Skate park and check out our pop up roller skating rink (very similar to last year's event in a shorter timeframe): ideal for families and kids to bring their skates.

- 7:45 to 9:00 pm come see whatWinnipeg Roller Derby is all about! They will be at the Forks Skate Park!

IllumiSkate Events Winnipeg (Golda Ferrer)

The mission with all IlluimiSkate events is to share this discovery: "All the feels, on 8 wheels".

I hope to encourage more people to roller skate and unite the existing Winnipeg skate communities with pop-up roller events!

You can find me rolling with my skate crew, The Peg City Rollers! All in the name of roller skating, this recreational, inclusive, adult skate group is seen all over Winnipeg's cityscape. From exploring trails and bike paths, to conquering our city skate parks, to jamming (dancing on skates) on smooth concrete public spaces, the Peg City Rollers has figured out a way to lace up regularly, even in the winter.

Peg City Rollers use the attention we get on our roller skates, to do good works in our community. When we roll, people see us! We love skating to support a worthy cause, Truth and reconciliation is one of them.

If you'd like to join us on your skates, find our meetup schedule on Peg City Rollers' Instagram page, @pegcityrollers.

Creating memories with every stride.
