About

Explore some of Japanese culture and its renowned art forms in Eiko Uehara's engaging 3-hour workshop. Using beautiful papers try the art of origami to make lovely gifts. Try your hand at drawing with ink and a brush on traditional Hanshi paper. Unleash your creativity with traditional sumi-ink brushwork, practicing the strokes to inscribe phrases, beloved words, or names in Japanese kanji.

All participants should be 13 years of age or older. Please wear art-appropriate clothing.

The Community Arts Centre offers art classes for all ages and abilities, allowing people to explore pottery, printmaking, painting, drawing, glass arts, fibre arts, digital arts, music and so much more.
