The Amherstview Farmers Market will be in full swing during this special ceremony. Guests are encouraged to visit the market area and support local!
Sisters of the Drum:
The ancestral rhythm of the hand drum echoes the heartbeat of Mother Earth. This group of women from mixed ancestry have become known as the ‘Sisters of the Drum’ and have actively been sharing their teachings and music over a wide area for the past 20 years.
The Sisters of the Drum have produced three CDs of hand-drum music and stories:
Sisters of the Water
Sisters of the Earth
Sisters of the Fire
and are currently preparing Sisters of the Wind, featuring traditional Native music as well as original pieces. Their presentation always includes cultural teachings and fun facts and stories, sometimes with puppets, about, "our connection to the Earth, the animals and birds, the wind, water, earth and air".
