About

As an avid kayaker, Valerie spends every spring, summer and fall exploring the rivers, creeks and marshlands of south eastern Ontario. Kayaking allows her to venture in to relatively untouched areas to photograph the landscapes prior to painting them in her home studio.

Coming from a family of artists, their influence, encouragement and creative outlook played a large role in her pursuit of the creative process. She started producing and selling art in public school.

She has always had a love of the outdoors but it was while living on a farm north of Napanee that she began to understand the role that the environment would play in her work. Exploring the acreage, where she was raising a family she found inspiration in the quiet wooded areas of their property.

Visit Valerie during the tour to see her many works, for show and sale
