About

This hands-on workshop at Queenston Pottery invites participants aged 12 and up, regardless of skill level, to explore expressive possibilities in clay. Each participant will be given a ball of clay to sculpt a face—or other form—that captures an expression, emotion, or personal statement. Let your imagination guide you as you shape your creation under the guidance and support of local ceramic artists, who will be on hand to offer tips, inspiration, and encouragement.

This Culture Days workshop takes place at a functioning pottery studio and gallery with a 47-year history.

At a later date, after the pieces are fired, a panel of judges will select the most expressive and imaginative works of art for prizes and inclusion in a future exhibition.

This is a great opportunity to get your hands dirty, connect with the local arts community, and express yourself through clay. Whether you're a beginner or an experienced maker, you'll leave inspired, and maybe win a prize.

All materials will be provided. Just bring your creativity and imagination.

Participants may register to reserve a preferred time slot by calling Queenston Pottery at 905-262-4196 and asking for Lisa.

On the day of the workshop, please arrive 10 minutes in advance to claim your spot.

Walk-ins are welcome and may participate, subject to space availability.

Queenston Pottery

Queenston Pottery is a multi-generational family business that has been making functional and decorative pottery since 1978. It is nestled in a natural escarpment environment between the historic towns of Queenston and St. Davids along Niagara's scenic York Road. The studio features a two-level gallery and garden display.

We take pride in offering you a diverse selection of handcrafted pottery meticulously created with passion and skill. Our exquisite collection includes dinnerware, serving platters, mugs, plates, and bowls, each featuring distinctive hand-painted designs and glazes.

Beyond pottery, we offer a curated selection of complementary items, including charcuterie boards and wooden ceramic centerpieces.

Queenston Pottery offers make-your-own pottery experiences, workshops, and public and private Behind-the-Scenes Studio Tours.
