About
Urbanspace Gallery presents TOO FUN, a multimedia exhibition by Toronto-based artist Leala Hewak exploring the Ontario Science Centre, the doomed playhouse, brutalist masterpiece designed by Raymond Moriyama in 1969. The potential destruction of the Ontario Science Centre, a building Hewak has been visiting for years, impelled her lens-based survey of the building and the people who use it.
Leala Hewak is a Toronto-based digital artist with a BFA from York University and the University of Toronto, and an MFA in Documentary Media from Ryerson University. Her work, including notable pieces like the *CLONE* installation, has been exhibited widely, with upcoming public art projects such as *LOCH NESS* at Saint John International Airport. As a disabled artist, Hewak leverages her unique perspective to infuse her practice with humor and resilience.
The Urbanspace Gallery was created to explore the city. A venue for diverse exhibitions and events, the gallery investigates how cities work, how we might improve them, and how we can learn from the past to create visions of the future.

Organizer
Ontario Culture Days
The Ontario Culture Days Festival is an annual celebration of arts, culture and heritage taking place each fall across the province. Each year, we work with organizers of all disciplines to produce this province-wide festival. Organizers host programs throughout Ontario and invite the public to participate for free.
Ontario Culture Days lives at the local level. We support organizers from the smallest hamlets to the largest cities, while coordinating with other national and provincial Culture Days partners. We support the success of our sector colleagues through resources and network development, while highlighting the breadth and heterogeneity of Ontario’s arts and culture to the wider public.
