About
To celebrate National Literacy Month, Change Makers' community volunteers and youth from our Raven Tales Storytelling Revival Project have woven words promoting reconciliation with natural materials (vines and branches, fabric and rope) into the fence surrounding the McKay Street Park on Kootenay Avenue and McKay Street. Our Literacy Outreach Workers met with Sm'oogyit Alex Campbell to learn about some traditional teaching and values from the Ts’msyen
tradition, he shared his thoughts around Łoomsk (respect) and offered guidance as we chose Sm’algyax words to incorporate into the fence.
We encourage observers to share their reflection on the project with us @RavenTalesStorytelling @ChangeMakersEducation or email us at [email protected]
