About
Angela Morrow will speak about her ancestor Pitikwahanapiwiyin (Chief Poundmaker) who is a central figure in Indigenous history. Participants will be able to try bannock and interact with drum music. Angela will bring a collection of items to show and share the significance and history of, including arrowheads, sweetgrass, beading, a ribbon skirt and dreamcatchers.
Participants will have the opportunity to interact with traditional Items and understand some of the traditional practices of Poundmaker Cree Nation developing deeper understanding and appreciation of Chief Poundmaker’s advocacy and his role as peacemaker in Treaty 6
