About

Nuit Blanche @ WAG is happening Saturday, September 24! Come for FREE to WAG-Qaumajuq to meet up with friends, enjoy a drink or two at the cash bar, and check out an exciting line up of current exhibitions including Esmaa Mohamoud: To Play in the Face of Certain Defeat; Transmissions, Kakiniit, and much more!

We're is excited to be bringing a little bit of WAG-Qaumajuq to the Exchange District for Nuit Blanche 2022! Visit our unique and fully accessible mobile exhibition, Nakatamaakewin: Bringing Art to You! featuring prints, textiles, and stone sculptures from the four regions of Inuit Nunangat, the Inuit homeland in Canada. Look for us on Arthur Street between Bannatyne and McDermot between 7-10pm!

At the Forks, celebrate light, language, and sound with Ikuma - an audio-visual program by multimedia artist Geronimo Inutiq - presented in collaboration with WAG-Qaumajuq. Ikuma from Inuktitut – translates to flame, fire, or spark. This installation will be activated between 9pm and 12am at the foot of the Esplanade Riel bridge at the Forks (behind CMHR).

WAG-Qaumajuq

WAG-Qaumajuq has grown into one of the country’s leading visual art museums with an international reputation! Founded in 1912, the WAG is one of Canada’s first civic art galleries, housed in an iconic modernist building in the heart of downtown Winnipeg. Opened in 2021, Qaumajuq (the Inuit art centre) is a contemporary architectural landmark that connects to the WAG building on all four levels.
