Organizer

Catholic Community Services of York Region (CCSYR)

CCSYR provides counselling, settlement, Refugee services, employment, and community engagement services throughout Ontario- in person and digitally. It is one of five lead agencies to oversee the Welcome Centres in York Region and the sole IRCC-funded settlement agency in York Region public libraries and both school boards. We run a knitting club for seniors year-round so they can overcome their social isolation, make new friends, and produce blankets to help newcomer families.

Vision: Helping individuals and their families thrive and grow in relationship with one another and within our community.

Mission: We reach out to support, counsel and guide individuals and families from diverse backgrounds and faiths. Inspired by the “Key Principles of Catholic Social Teaching”, we recognize the dignity and worth of everyone. We provide a broad array of programs and services that enable all citizens, immigrants, newcomers and refugees to participate fully in the social, economic, political and cultural life of our community.
