About
Join us at the Pictou Library on the 1st Saturday of the month, for a structured LEGO build! Each month, participants will focus on a specific LEGO build to take home. *Registration is required, as supplies are limited (and this program is for children ages 6-9 years). One of our larger branches, Pictou Library is located in downtown Pictou, as part of the deCoste Culture Hub. We offer a full range of free services and access to the resources of all Nova Scotia public libraries. Pictou Library is also an @NS community technology access site. At the Pictou Library you can access a wireless hotspot to high speed Internet.
Programming at the Pictou Library
All library programs are offered free of charge, although space is limited - so please call the Library for more information, and to register 902-485-5021.
Regular library programs are offered through the fall until the spring (from September to June). Over the summer months, special programming (such as the Summer Reading Clubs for children) is offered.
In addition to regular library programs and events, join us for workshops, presentations, and evening seminars on a variety of topics. Some of our special programs include, family movies, puppet shows, Summer Reading Clubs for kids, numerous author readings and book signings.
Pictou Library is also home to several special cultural collections, including an Indigenous Collection, a Gaelic Collection, and the Bud White Collection of settler history, which includes various materials relating to the history of Pictou County and Nova Scotia in general. Even more local historical material is regularly being digitized and can be found online at NovaStory.ca
